Who pays what
In a typical Michigan sale the seller pays for the owner's policy and the transfer tax, and the buyer pays for the lender's policy. Your purchase agreement can divide costs differently.
A one-time premium
Title insurance is paid once, at closing. The owner's policy protects the buyer for as long as they own the home.
Your final numbers
This is an estimate. Your closer confirms every figure on the closing statement, and your lender's Closing Disclosure shows the final amounts before you sign.
Estimate for planning only. Premiums are set by the title insurance underwriter's filed rates; fees are Abacus Title's. Questions? Call any office or email orders@abtitlemi.com.
